The Local Employability Partnership (LEP) is responsible for providing a range of public services and are accountable for annual needs-based funding allocations agreed by the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities and the Scottish Government.

The West Lothian LEP is made up of key partners that contribute to the local employability landscape and represent the local community. Membership includes the local authority, business, skills, further and higher education, health, third sector and national/regional bodies.

The LEP meet very two months, working collaboratively to put plans into action that will achieve the local vision to:

  1. Build on the strengths of existing national and local services, to better align funding and improve the integration of employability services with wider support to ensure that services are designed and delivered around the needs and aspirations of those using our services.
  2. Improve employment and career opportunities for West Lothian council residents including underrepresented groups, through equal access to training and fair work, reducing unemployment and inactivity rates, and increasing the skills of the workforce within the West Lothian council area.

The LEP reports to the West Lothian Economic Partnership Forum and via this forum, the Community Planning Partnership.
