Are you ready to develop your career and take on a more senior role within your company? If the answer is yes, you don’t want to miss our brand new ‘Career Growth Programme for Women.

The aim of this programme is to help women with their career progression and empower them to put themselves forward for more senior roles with increased responsibility. This is perfect for women that feel like they have reached a stalemate and do not have the confidence to move forward. By the end of the programme, attendees will have a career plan with clear goals and timeframes, and be more confident to set their sights high and achieve their personal career journey goals.

The programme will take place over 4 exciting sessions, delivered by the fantastic Michelle Brown, Director of Michelle Brown PR. Here’s what you can expect from each session (you must attend every session to complete the programme):

  • Session 1 (23rd of October) – Your Career Journey So Far: Reflect on the timeline of your career, your professional goals, your work/life balance, your skillset, any stumbling blocks and hurdles when it comes to career progression, and learn how to build and hone your strengths, and create a ‘Career Plan’ to track progress
  • Session 2 (30th of October) – Re-Inventing Yourself to Reach Your Career Goals: Identify your goals and where you see yourself in 2 years, discover and utilise the 5 steps to career development, and write your mission statement
  • Session 3 (6th of November) – Brand ‘You’ and Self Promotion: Learn how to build your confidence and ensure people have confidence in you, how to re-brand yourself by upskilling, sharpening your skills and showcasing your commitment to learning, and how to build your personal brand profile, values and reputation. Discover the specialities that you bring to the table, how to align your values with the company you are working for, and how to promote yourself on paper, online, and in person
  • Session 4 (13th of November) – Presentation Skills: Review your ‘Career Plan’ from session 1, highlighting your goals. Learn how to capture and keep the attention of someone you are promoting yourself to, take part in interview scenarios, and learn how to ask for feedback and use it to your advantage and advancement. Present your Mission Statement, Brand Values and Credentials, and your new Career Plan to the group. This will be followed by a light lunch.

The sessions will be very interactive, and will give you the opportunity to network and brainstorm with a group of likeminded West Lothian residents.

Participants that have attended all 4 sessions will then be given the opportunity to apply for up to £500 of funding towards training or upskilling opportunities that will allow them to develop their skills and progress in their career.

The programme is perfect for:

  • Women who need help, support and confidence to develop their career and take on more senior roles within a company
  • Women whose careers have hit a stalemate and they want to climb the career ladder

This programme has a value of £500, but is free to eligible West Lothian residents. Please note you can book a maximum of 2 spaces per business.
