EG Group opens first Scottish Asda on the move store in Livingston

Asda has opened its first convenience store in Scotland, bringing the Asda On the Move format to the region in partnership with EG Group.

The new Livingston store is described as one of Asda’s largest and features more than 2,500 branded and own-brand products, including 140 local lines from Scottish suppliers, plus a wider range of fresh produce than is traditionally found in fuel forecourt convenience formats.

A Leon self-serve coffee kiosk is included within the convenience store and is one of only four in Scotland.

The Almondvale Centre location has created around 15 full and part time jobs for local people.

Asda has launched 36 Asda On the Move sites to date – inclusive of the Livingston store - as it as it looks to make its products and services more accessible to customers picking up groceries when they fill up with fuel.

The partnership sees Asda supply a range of branded, own-brand and premium products in EG Group forecourt locations, as the supermarket enters into the convenience market for the first time. The rollout combines Asda’s grocery offer with EG Group’s expertise in convenience.
