We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Scientist to join us on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. In this role you will perform general Tissue Culture duties as required to maintain the planned production schedule, ensure that all procedures are carried out to cGMP and that all documentation is completed correctly in accordance with Company policy. You will also support the Production Manager and Supervisor in the planning of and progression of new cell lines from Preliminary Evaluation to Product Manufacture.

As Scientific Support Operative you will take all the skills, learning, knowledge and experience gained as a Junior Scientific Support Operative to the next level. You will gain a greater technical understanding of our technical and quality processes and why they are used beyond simply performing the tasks. You will also gain a greater insight and responsibility for the progress of customer studies by contributing to discussions to ensure the required cells, reagents, and proteins are available and on time. The role involves supporting the Operations department by ensuring the smooth running of the laboratory through providing media, cells, proteins and support during assay work and thus delivering high quality data to our customers whilst collaborating and communicating with Operations and Quality colleagues to ensure the smooth running of laboratory practices and customer projects. You will receive all the required training under the guidance of senior members of the Study Team which will allow you to broaden your scientific knowledge alongside developing a wide range of practical laboratory techniques over several different areas and in turn be competent in performing assays across our operations team. Your main responsibility will be in ensuring that the customer projects you work on are performed in the laboratory to the highest possible standard which in turn delivers high quality data to our customers. Once fully trained and your probation is complete, you will participate in our weekend on call rota.

As the central member of the wider Study Team, you will have overall responsibility for ensuring the performance of customer projects is conducted according to the requirements detailed in the contract. Your role will allow you to specialise in the management of projects within Immunology Services with opportunities to collaborate with our Biophysics, Cell Line Development and Bioanalytical teams. To support you in your role, guidance and direction will be available from the Senior Study Manager and Project Lead, alongside opportunities to cross-train in different scientific areas (with support from a Study Team).
