Key Responsibilities Working in a fast paced high energy environment assisting the Head Housekeeper with the management of a busy housekeeping department. Being the first point of contact for the Hotel General Manager and Senior Management team within the hotel in the absence of the Head Housekeeper. Maintaining the standards set by HotelCare and our client at all times. Meeting daily targets. Commercial awareness and cost control capabilities. Complying with all company health and safety policies, and reporting/recording any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries to ensure adherence to the standards required for QA audits and HS audits.

As Night Porter and part of our wider hotel and pub team you’ll: Work throughout the night. Usually between 11pm and 7am on Friday and Saturday nights. Be on call to take care of our guests needs, over the phone and face to face Be professional and friendly when interacting with guests Be responsible for the safety and security of the pub and hotel guests Complete tasks that set the pub and hotel team up for success the following day Complete cleaning of the pub throughout the night.

The role is to work closely with the management to ensure that only the best service and food is produced, all the team are trained to reach their maximum potential, and aspire to be the best.

As part of this role you will be working, and in contact with a variety of different ingredients including dairy, nuts, meat products including pork. Serving hot and cold beverages. Dishing up our delicious savoury and sweet food items. Ensuring all cooked food is nice and hot. Keeping the restaurant tables clear and sanitised as promptly as possible. Loading and unloading the dishwashers . Providing an exceptional standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen, service area and restaurant.

Delivery Handling: Receive, check, and safely store kitchen deliveries, ensuring that all items are properly accounted for and stored. Food Safety: Understand and implement safe food handling principles to ensure the highest standards of food safety are met. Cleaning Procedures: Follow cleaning procedures for different surfaces and equipment, ensuring everything is sanitized and well-maintained. Presentation: Ensure that all areas are well-presented and maintained in good condition, contributing to a professional kitchen environment. Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by the head chef; ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all time. Station Management – oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station and upkeep your designated area with supplies and ensuring cleanliness in line with policies and procedures. Quality Control – maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste is considered at all times. Team Collaboration – communicate positively and effectively with all other team members and assist/support all colleagues where necessary. Coaching of junior chefs to support development. Menu Development – collaborate with head chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation. Cleaning and Maintenance – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen including your designated area ensuring equipment is in good working order.
